Poppysmic, Pips, Aglets, and Whatifs

I just love finding weird little words that mean things you would never think of! For example, here is a little list.

Poppysmic: The noise made by smacking lips together. Weird, huh?
Pips: The dots in a dice. Always wondered what those things were called!
Aglets: The plastic end of a shoelace.
Whatifs: My new awesome word. Two simple words that, when you think about it, can be magical.

This weekend, I went to Girls Night Out, and two sleepovers. Loads of fun, but I think pictures would best describe these events. More to come later when I feel like waiting for this dumb computer to load all my pics.
Yesterday, January 24th 2011, was a big day. Yesterday is my sister's, Emma Isabella Sherwood, birthday. It's been eight short years since my little sister was born. Happy Birthday Emma! Love ya! I would have posted this yesterday, had I not been so busy with partying.
Guess what, everyone? This whole week I will be cooking dinner. Since my parents are getting ready for MEXICO, I wanted to help out someway. Hopefully, recipes and pictures to come.

Tinkerings and Ideas

Oh, recaps. How I hate thou. My good friend Natalia just posted how she hated recaps, and I totally agree. So I came up with the brilliant idea of only spending a paragraph tops on recaps. Let's see how that goes.

This week I only have a few highlights. It snowed, which is pretty dang amazing. I always did loooove the snow, in any form. But, there are a few different kinds of snow. This was the kind of fluffy snow that can't be made into a snowball, but is nicely slicked down for high-efficient-super-flying sledding. This meant sledding for Em and I as "gym class". This also means some incredible skiing. We're going every Friday with a homeschool group to Elk. Mrs. Russell and her daughter Rachel (homeschooled, and my friend from church), car pool with us. This Friday was especially fun. I am using my Uncle Kevin's skiis, which are a tad bit to long for me. So I was feeling discouraged, but ended up taking a lesson and preceding to flying down the mountain which surprised everyone, especially myself. Then I came home with twenty minutes to spare for Care Groups. Care groups were lots of fun, seeing as how the Leslie's, I, and the Maddens made an amazing video which I can hopefully post later. Natalia edited it, and said it looked really good! Can't wait to see it. then the Maddens ended up staying till 12:30, while our parents had a meeting. We played dress up, and ate cookies. Sunday we had church, and some Stronghold kids came over as well as Jake and the Maddens. The girls and I were watching the Conroy girls, while in the house they had a care group leaders meeting. Then we went sledding, and watched 2 movies. It was fun! Whew. I'm done with my "short" recap. Hope I didn't bore you-just HAD to get these things out on paper.

On other, more fun news: Mrs. Leslie gave me this awesome idea. She was telling me how she knew a lady who did home-cooked meals for "take out". This is such a great idea! It's like ordering a pizza, only with way better meals for those who don't have time! I really would love to tie this in with my whole dinner parties idea. I need to make some money!!! This might totally work, IF I get on the move! Sometimes, I have a great idea but it takes a little longer for this idea to come into action.
So far, I've only come up with menus for dinner parties, and their prices. Plus a few name ideas. Things like DISH, Carl's Cooking, and some other lame ones. Ah, well. I'll keep working on it and hopefully will be able to tell you my business is on it's way!

IN GOD, WHOSE WORD I PRAISE, IN GOD I TRUST; I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT CAN MORTAL MAN DO TO ME?      ~Psalm 56:4

I wish I had other things to tell you right now...but I don't. So until next time, my comrades.

I Noticed....

Hey, so I noticed that SOME of you had complaints about the "Cbox". I decided to run a few experiments to see what chat station will best fit your needs starting with the Chatroll. PLEASE-tell me your thoughts and opinions on this.
On other news-luke and I had "gym class" all day on Thursday, because we had free tickets to Elk Mountain!! Those of you that have been there know how awesome it is. Until the next few days that is, because you are Soooore! Today I'm just chillin. Trying to upgrade my blog and work on some stuff for the dinner party. Also, I would love it if I got maybe just a few comments???? Thanks in advanced.
Oh, one more thing before I leave. Last Sunday Caitlin Hails and I had Children's Church. Or was it the Sunday before? Anyways, we were watching this cartoon version of the nativity where Mary is like "Oh, Joseph, I'm ok now that your here with me!" and the following conversation came:

Emma: That didn't happen in the Bible!!
Ava Tyler: I know, it's highly dramatic...like a soap opera!
Emma: What's a soap opera?
Ava: It's highly dramatic.

Caitlin and I were trying soooo hard not to laugh, hahahaha. Welp, see ya'll later!

Since You've Been Gone

Wow, so much has happened since I last post-which was last year!! lol. This week flew by. School tomorrow-NOOOOO!!

Okay, so on Monday I hung out with the Maddens from a last minute sleepover on Sunday. We got to sleep in (for once!), had waffles, watched movies, and made movies! I got Em these machine gun things that make shooting noises when you pull the trigger, which we had a lot of fun with in our videos. :D That night after they left we went to my Aunt Betsy's house for a little present exchange and dinner with their family. Everything was delicious, and everyone loved their gifts! I got a 2-year subscription to Food Network Magazine-which is SO me!! I read the December issue twice already, and I just got the January one in the mail. Oh, and I also got the new Rachel Ray magazine that my mom gave me for Christmas. Love that magazine too!! We got home at 11.
Tuesday we hung out all day doing nothing. My mom and I watched a movie, and I made a hash for lunch. At night, we had a 4-H party at Mark's Valley View Restaurant. The parents of some kids in our group own it, so they made us a huge buffet, drinks, and dessert for free! So yum.
Wednesday...hmmm, what did I do that day? Oh yeah, I went on the ultimate shopping trip. Here's the deal-we arrive at Burlington Coat Factory (the awesomest place ever, plus I had a gift card) at about 11:30. We ended up staying till 2. Here's what I got: skinny jeans ($6, amazing right?), 3 cute tops, dress, black heels, jeans, and black dress pants. All at EXTREMELY low prices. Sweetness.
We also went to JcPennay's, and my mom said to look around while she looked for purses. She came back to find me watching Giada on the Food Network on this huge TV by the fitting rooms of all places. Whoops.
Thursday I chilled for a while. I set my grandma's hair, and had a piano lesson. Then I ended up going to the Madden's at 3 till about 4:30, to go to the Johnson's for a sleepover with the Maddens, Danielle, Annie, and I. Yes, I skipped Dairy Quiz Bowl practice... :p
On Friday, I stayed home for a little bit and then headed up to the Hails to help them move after I got home from the sleepover. It was pretty fun! Haha. We rang in the New Year, and went to bed. We had planned a fancy meal with steak and stuff, but we kind of dropped everything to help the Hails, which was fine with me! I'm not a big New Year's Eve person anyways.
Saturday, went to the Hails again after watching The Tooth Fairy. Funny movie. We got home at almost 10, because Mrs. Hails invited us to dinner. It was fun!!!
Now it's Sunday, and I'm chillin. My brother went to help the Hails again (he went all weekend all day), but we decided to stay home and rest because it's Sunday. Ok, time to go watch another movie. We already watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which was really good. Tomorrow's school! NO!!!!

I know this was just another recap of my week, but maybe I'll have time this week to talk and not recap! Haha.

Peace! Carly
p.s. I almost forgot-the title of this post was slightly random, but I guess it came to me after I was thinking how sad it was that Christmas and New Year's is over. I'm not supposed to dwell on these thoughts, though. :D
