Finally! An update on my vacation!!

TUESDAY   9/28
Woke up leisurely at 9:30, then went to breakfast and had 1/2 waffle and 2 sausage links. We hung out at the hotel until 11 when dad picked us up to go to the World Dairy Expo! It was so cool! We looked around for a bit, then sat down to watch the Red and White Holstein show.
The arena was kind of like a basketball stadium only the arena replaced the court. outside (where the hot dog and popcorn vendors are) thwere were vendors, only cow vendors. There's some for calf pins, medicine, special beds for cows, and FREE SAMPLES. Then, in the parking lot were vendors for food, machinery, equipment, and even a cool robot barn cleaner.
The heifer that got junior champion (the champion of the young cows) was owned by a guy I bought a calf from! He is really into showing cows. It's really neat to be sitting watching the show, and hearing people talk in all different languages around you! French, Italian, Spanish, etc...
After the show, we went back to the hotel to swim and hang out. Then we went to Culver's! It's kind of like a McDonald's, KFC, and Perkins wrapped into one. I had a bacon burger and fries. It was seriously the BEST fast-food burger I have ever had. Besides burgers, there's salads, friend chicken dinners, and frozen custards! There was also these kind of McFlurry things only with 20 different kinds of treats to mix. Later, my mom and I went back to get Frozen Custard. Butterfinger Pecan (me), and Blueberry Cheesecake (mom). Delish! Apparently, they're really popular in the central part of the US.

WEDNESDAY
Probably my favorite day of the week. First, we woke up at 9, and went to breakfast where I got a cheese omelet (surprisingly good), a doughnut (awesome), toast and sasuage links. Not the most nutritious breakfast but heck! it's vacation!! After breakfast, we got ready and went down to Clasen's European Bakery (next to Culver's). There was lots of chocolate where they had 3 containers of chocolate, vanilla, and assorted mint candies of FREE SAMPLES! There was also FREE coffe, and other assorted FREE SAMPLES! Raspberry croissants (huge slices, mind you), fudge, chocolate covered cherry cake, and apple tart slices. ALL FREE!! Tons of assorted breads, homeade chocolates, tarts, cakes, sweey bars, buns, etc!
Next, we went to Carr Valley cheese. Not only is this shop the most-awarded cheese shop in the WORLD, but they also offer FREE SAMPLES! What is with Wisconsin and free samples?!?! So, we a two milk cheese of Casabolo (goat and cow) and three milk cheese of "Bessy's Best" that was award winning. I didn't expect they were going to so Awesome! So delicious!
After this, we went to a free zoo that was pretty cool. The usual, lions, tigers, goats, giraffes, rinos, etc. The cool part was I got to try my very first corn dog! Emma enjoyed the zoo alot, so that was good.
Then we went to these gardens that were really pretty. There was also fountains, towers, plants, flowers and neat little paths. That was cool, mom LOVED it!
Finally, we went to Daisy's Cupcakery and Cafe. It was fantastic! It was such a cute vintage-like place. They bought all the furniture from garage sales, so it was all mis-matching but still the same shade of color. We got a caramel cappuccino, mocha chocolate, and chocolate chocolate chocolate chocolate (my fave) cupcakes.  I could talk about this place all day, but I'm going to go help mom with dinner now.
till we meet again...Carly

p.s. The cafe inspired me! I'm going to open a business called Carly's Cupcakes, Catering, and Cooking Classes! or C5 for short. It's just what I want to do!! After I'm done with college and getting my teaching degree. The cupcake shop could be on one side, and the cooking classes on the other. For the cupcakes, Maybe I would do a "make your own cupcake" thing with a list of cakes, toppings, and icings. Hmmm...
I don't know, maybe that sounds a little wierd. What do you think?
Oh, and a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my bud Ava, who's turning 3 today! :D

Proverbs 3: 5 (NIV) Trust in the lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding.

I thank God for my good time on vacation, my family, and Mr. Shaw's acceptance of the Lord (a man who's wife in our church was diagnosed with cancer and has only 3 months to live)
