Christmas!

ok, here are the words of last post, and then I'll update a bit. Sorry I haven't posted!! :D

DISH: This new thing I kinda thought of. Like dinners that I make for people. Just throwin out some ideas for a job. My goal is to earn money by the end of January. I make money now, obviously, but I want an actual job. You know? Hillside said they might be interested in having me make some small dinner parties-only ten and under. More than ten people would be a little hectic.
Polls: Need some ideas!! Anyone have ideas for new polls? I would totally use them.
Marissa Madden: Ya, this one was pretty random. Just a special shout out to my buddy. This is our last Christmas before COLLEGE!! What will I do without you????
Report Of The Week: Finished school! YAY! No CLEAR, which made me sad. And today is the dat after Christmas. haha

Did I mention we had our Christmas program Sunday? It was awesome. We had enough food (surprisingly), I messed up my lines (NERVES), and had a little momement ;)
Casey I'm writing about about you.
La de da.
Oh, right. So Christmas. Christmas was awesome! I got money for clothes and shoes, which is what I mainly wanted. Other than that, some crazy socks, Taylor Swift CD, and other stuff. I didn't really want anything big this year. Except Facebook (not gonna happen!). My favorite gift, though, was the birth of Jesus. We just watched The Nativity. Such a good movie. It really shows you what it might have been like for Mary.

Well, that's all for now cause I'm trying to talk to Maddens, listen to music, and type this.
PEACE! Carly

Here It Is, yo!

Ok, I promised you some key words for this post. So here they are.
Crappy Music: I was just rendering that some music I'm listening to is real crappy. As in the lyrics. For example, "Like A G6". Ya, it has an awesome tune, but the lyrics are all about drinking!!! Same with "Bottoms Up", or other music like that.
New Old Friend: I desperately want an "old" friend. My mom learned a lot about cooking from her neighbor in her childhood. She was old, and was a chef! One lady I might try is Mrs. Horvath. She lives right up the road from us, and lives by herself. Everyone says she's like a super nice lady, but I've never met her!! Hopefully I'll form some guts and give her a visit with cookies.
Crunches: I recently have been working out. Shocking, right? Lol. Anyways, I ride our exercise bike for 20 minutes, and do at least 15 crunches at night. By the end of the day, I'm pooped. But sometimes I forget about the bike. Where's the string around my finger when I need it??
The Future: I'm not even going there right now. This needs a whole post dedicated to it.
Fun: The Leslie's are coming over tonight!! And tomorrow, a special surprise...Did I mention today's my mom's birthday?? I made her stuffed french toast, fruit salad, cookies, orange juice, and coffee.

Did I ever mention that my cow had a BABY??!! So excited. It was one of my show cows, and it was a girl! Will post tons of pictures later. She's very white. Has a white face, with bright red spots on the tip of her ears. I feed her everyday at lunch, and we have fun! After she eats, she chases me around the pen and kicks her legs up. Sooooo cute!!!!

Luke went to Stronghold last night, he had fun! :D The Christmas program with Clear, Children's Church, and Stronghold is THIS SUNDAY! EEK!!!! I have to finish memorizing my lines, and practice for my clarinet piece. Oh, and organize more food. Hope everyone's coming!!
My friend from school emailed me today. I don't even talk to anyone from school anymore. I have nothing really in common with them. They're nice, but it's hard hanging with people who don't have Christ in their lives like I do. So thankful for all my friends in Grace!! Nothing new more to report.

Next Week on Dairy Queen: DISH, polls, Marissa Madden, report of the week.

Peace!Carly

Everything Under The...Fun!

My sincerest apologizes to all my readers! I hope I actually do have readers besides Natalia, Maddie, Hope, and the Maddens!! :D I have been sooo busy! So here's just a short recap of the week:

Wednesday: Had CLEAR, where we picked names for our "secret" gift. Hmm, that sounds weird. I mean, you pick someone's name, buy a present for that person, and don't tell anyone who you got. Which is funny,. because I know who everyone has except 2 people. 1 of these 2, have my name! :D No, I don't persuade people, they just seem to like to tell me! Haha...

Thursday: Dairy Quiz Bowl practice. I stunk. BUT-since then I've studied a lot. I memorized five pages so far. Hopefully next time I'll do better. Oh, Luke and I rode together by ourselves for the first time! It was actually lots of fun riding with him.

Friday: Care groups. Took lots of fun pics of Natalia. Will post these later.

Saturday: Hung out. Went to Christmas in Our Hometown, which is always a fun part of the year. Saw the Leslie's, Maddens, and other church people. Took a horse-drawn carriage with Leslie girls, cousins, Aunt, and family. Then hung out the rest of the night with the Maddens. We found this really cute store, that I didn't even know about!! They make all these really cute stuff out of recycled stuff. So, chic! Marissa got an adorable bag that was soo her, and I got earrings for my secret special person gift for CLEAR. Haha. Oh, and had a very last-minute sleepover, haha. Bedtime? 4:00. That's A.M., people.

Sunday: Church, the we had people over to hang out and shoot trap. For those of you who don't know what this is-you take a gun and shoot a bright orange disks called birds. Sounds weird, I know, but so much fun! People: Kara H, Teresa, Jake J, Jake H, Adam, and Tim. Ate lunch, then shot trap till 3:00.In the middle of this I 1)Shot my first clay bird and actually got it (after I was like, "Wow! I didn't think I'd get it. I barely even looked!" lol)! 2)Took a crazy 4-wheeler ride with Teresa driving, Kara sitting behind her, and me on the front. I almost died haha. The boys didn't know we went, and they just all stopped, turned, and stared at us like we were crazy, which we probably were! So awesome!! Then we played Apples to Apples until 5:30, had dinner and coffee, and played more till about 7:00. Hung out and ended up watching Shanghai Noon. They all left about 10:00. I was beat, but it was sooo worth it! :)

Monday: School, cookies, apple crisp, t.v., bed

Tuesday: Two words-Baking Frenzy. That's all I should have to say.

Man, I meant this to be a short recap, so I could talk more about other stuff! Well, I guess I'll just have lots to tell you next time.
Key Words For Next Week On Dairy Queen: crappy music, new old friend, crunches, the future, and fun.
Peace! Carly

p.s. Three of you vote other on my poll, "If you had $1 mil, what would you spend it on?". What are your others? AND-Check this out!! So AWESOME!

Nuts and Other Fun Things

Today in a Nutshell: Best Day Ever.
Got up about 9, to take pictures of my grandpa Wayne's 8 point buck. It was nice. Ate breakfast, watched a little movie with mom. Then my dad came in, and wanted to know if I wanted to go hunting, so I did! Yesterday my dad and I sighted his gun in, and I shot it for the second time. Hit the target (a water jug) at 25 yards away. When we saw that I hit it, dad said "Oh, I don't have any more jugs, I didn't think you'd make it on the first shot!" lol, thanks dad. So anyways, went hunting/running up big hills chasing the deer to Luke. But it was still fun. Then came home, ate lunch, and took a power nap. power=1 hour. Awesomeness. Then hung around, made cookies, helped mom put up some Christmas decorations. Had a piano/clarinet lesson with Aunt Betsy. I'm soo excited!! Emily Forba and I are doing a duet for the Christmas program, and Aunt B helped me make the song so much better!!!! Can't wait.
Came home, hung out, ate dinner, and now I'm telling you about it. Told mom my "secrets" haha ya. Now I'm going to finish Iron Chef episode. Watch tv, and go to bed. And read.

Mother

Mom is doing ok, for those of you wondering. She mostly has jello, tea, coffee, and such. And yes she is in pain, until she takes her painkillers. But overall, she is feeling very thankful. As am I, cause we're getting some awesome meals from everyone which is great!!

Haven't studied at all for Dairy Quiz Bowl yet, really need to step up my game!! It's all about memorizing, which I can be good at if I really work at it.
Grandma M and Auntie & kids came today. It was really nice, especially for mom who is feeling kind of bored. Tonight her and I are going to watch My Best Friend's Wedding, which everyone says is really good but I've never seen it! And have our nightly tea (we started this new thing where I make her and I a cup of tea, with just the right amount of condiments).

OK, for those of you who don't know me, here is a little family tree so you know who I'm talking about:

Grandma Mona + Grandpa Van = Aunt Summer and Mother
Mother + Father = Luke (17), Me (15), and Emma (7)
Aunt Summer + Uncle Kevin = The Cousins. Aleah (3), Kaden (2), and Darian (1)
Grandma Alice + Grandpa Wayne = Aunt Betsy and Father
Aunt Betsy + Uncle Craig = Christian (14) and Rachel (13?)

So there you have it folks, my family. Well actually only about 1/3 of it. My family is REALLY big. My immediate family I suppose. I hope none of them are offended that I put them on here. Now that I think about it, none of them really read this blog anyways, so...:D

Peace!

Prayer

As most of you know, my mom is having her galbladder surgery today. Actually, right now! Weird, just looked at the clock and it was 10:00 exactly! So anyways, please keep her in your prayers.

oh and check this out: gotta say the kid's got talent, even though Kesha is terrible.

Fancy

The dinner/speech went great!! I felt great going up to the podium, and although I was shaking like a leaf I somehow got through it!! haha.
On to the highlight of my night...the dinner (when is this not the highlight of my day??)
They served it buffet style. A spread of cheese, crackers, and punch started off the night. Then going on to the buffet where we had a lovely fresh salad with the best salad dressings my mom and I have ever had. I had raspberry vinaigrette, she had ranch and Italian. Mashed potatoes with a slight tang of garlic and very creamy/rich. Green beans which I thought were slightly overcooked (aka Mushy) but were served with pieces of onion, garlic, and dried cranberries. Carrots, they were great nicely cooked with an air of a light syrup? Only no syrup to be seen, with some green chives. Noodles, not very good at all. Sorry, but they tasted like they were boiled and set on the table with no seasonings or anything. and then sat for two hours. Then came some good amazing pork. It was sooo tender and had amazing flavor!!! There was a guy cutting it, and he gave me a huge piece. I ate half of it, then went to get dessert with my dad (ice cream brownie sunday, it was ok). When I came back I just saw the waitress walking away with my pork, and silverware no less!!! I was crushed. My mother explained that the lady came not one minute earlier and asked if I was done, and mom said no. Then she left and came back and TOOK IT. Ah well....Pork, I miss thou. Come back to thee!!

I wore my black bubble dress that I wore to Girl's Night Out last year with a long black sleeved shirt underneath. To complete the look, I added my purplish cute sweater with short sleeves, leggings, and ballet flats. Hair: straightened with curled hair pulled up in pretty pin.
So overall, it was amazing. Now today I'm tired and might have to go shopping for a coat again. My essay is posted at the bottom of the page if you want to see it. Not my best work, but still. Clear tonight!! woot woot!

Good News!

I know I just posted, but good news are here! The past few weeks, I have been working on an essay and application for the title of Senior Outstanding 4-Her and $175. Today, they called me and told me I won. So that'll be fun. EXCEPT-I have to read the essay in front of lots of people TOMORROW!! Eek. plus a big buffet from Keystone College.
I thank God sooo much for this great opportunity, and for allowing me to write!!
Exodus 15:2
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Other news: I just finished cleaning my room for three hours, and if I do say so myself it looks AWESOME!! lol

Recap

Recap of the week. Connect on Wednesday, very good message with Mr. J. Thursday, don't remember. Friday, care groups and sleepover at the Madden's (3 weeks straight sleepover! That's a record.) Saturday, went with my grandma and cousin shopping for a winter coat (for the third time). Didn't find a single thing. But I know God will provide. :)
Today we had Orphan Sunday. We had two testimonies about families in our church who adopted. It was really amazing. Now I'm home, and bored out of my mind :p. I think today I'll put all my pictures on the computer to my flash drive. and maybe even put some on here :D
Am thinking about my sweet 16, which I'm pretty darn excited about! It's going to be sooo much fun...
Also, since this is "Dairy Queen" blog, then I should probably say something about my cows. We have the beefers in the barn now, and some in the pasture...for eating. haha. When we were rounding them up, I was supposed to count them as they went by. I also was giving them names. Steak, Hamburger, Prime Rib, and Meatballs are my newest acquaintances. lol

On other news, the Leslie's are home!! Missed you sooo much you guys!!!! :D

Election Day

So went shopping today with mom and Em. We spent hours looking for a wool coat that looks half nice. Didn't find ONE under...$40? Yuck. Plus side? Got to eat at Subway.
Also went to Aldis where I wrote down all the prices for the groceries I would need for baking at Hillside. ALSO-we bought a new car. It'll be Luke's for college, then mine after he's done with college. Yay!

Baked my first "lattice" style pie yesterday. of the apple variety. It was fun! Hopefully, I'll have tons of pics to show you asap.
I love happy endings. and stars. and songs. This just make me feel happy! :D What about you?
I guess this randomness is because of a cool new site I found, and am now a member of. It's a site where teens submit their work, and people can rate and comment on it. Some even get published in a magazine which I want to subscribe to. I love writing, so I've started submitting my work. It's so much fun! But I can't tell you what it's called. Law issues. ;)

The rents are out on a date. Voting, dinner, and a movie. They left me home.
I want a pen pal really bad. I'm working on getting one. Will let you know how it works out :)

Chocolates, Cookies, and Other Sweet Thangs

lol, I know that was a total random title. And has nothing to do with this post.
Nothing really new to report...Friday CLEAR went to Roba'. well, actually the Maddens, us, Josh, Mr.J, and Mr. M went haha. But it was still lots of fun!!
Saturday I went to the Madden's for a sleepover, along with DD for HOMECOMING!! Woot woot! We also watched the sound of music (at which point I fell asleep). Casey and me also made some amazing videos (casey if your reading this, my email isn't working so sorry if you wrote me. also, you should definitely send me the videos when it does work so I can post them on here! :)

Today was Mrs. Shaw's funeral. I wasn't able to go to the funeral, which was slightly disappointing, but I was able to help get the dinner and building ready for the dinner. A friend of ours came over in the morning to help luke lift some stuff as well, which was nice.
I'm going to officially start working on my costume tomorrow. Got all my materials :)

Praise

We have recently been reading a chapter of a book called "The Cross and the Switchblade". It is sooo amazing, Praise God!! Tonight's reading especially had a huge impact on me. I just want to go out in the world to tell everyone about God's Love!! Can't wait for college :D I would recommend it to everyone.

Tomorrow, we're going to Sals and then to a dress rehearsal of The Sound of Music for $1!! lol soo cheap. I've also decided that my husband and I are going to Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet) for our honeymoon. It is such an amazing place for a honeymoon!! Wow, that sounds ridiculous, but I was just sooo excited!! My friends think it's weird that I have a few wedding plans like this, but what the hey?! haha.
All for now, love Carly

Don't You Hate it When You Can't Think of a Good Title??

I know I do.
Anyways, Clear was yesterday. It was ok. Actually the highlight was when we could talk during the Bible study time. Mr. Johnson wasn't there because of a viewing, so my dad and Mr. M did it. It was really cool! We talked about the tongue and the evils of it. Gossiping, slander, criticism, and sarcasm to name a few. I thought it was neat that we had time to talk and discuss rather than just listen the whole time.
Mom has another doctor's appointment today. Two actually, plus some bloodwork.
Rambling on here...
There are really a few kinds of people here on blogger. 1)people who started a cooking blog b/c of Julie Powell. Lame! 2)People who have a blog all about their dog, kids, family, or boyfriend. 3)People who want to keep a kind of journal, but can do it in a creative way 4)People who "ramble"   any others??
Did you know you can write comments anonymously even if you don't have blogger? just found that out haha.
Andrew: If your reading this...STOP LAUGHING!! :D

Happy happy day.

So on Saturday after working at the Russells in the AM, dad em and I went to Hillside. Hillside is a farm where people from the city go and pet animals, and get "educated". lol. We own some cows there, and sell them hay. My friends Sam, Matt, and I went for a walk to see some of my cows cause it was such a beautiful day!! Afterwords, I showed some of my dinner party pics and menus to Amy (someone who is in charge of the animals with her husband) and she said Hillside might be interested in doing some dinner parties!! Also, they asked me to do some baked goods during the school year some, and mostly in the summer. YAY!! I'm really excited because now I won't have to go to work somewhere like McDonalds (yuck) or something like that.

Also, some hilarious stories about my cousins. My one cousin Kaden (who's 2 1/2), calls everything he doesn't know the name of "stuffbum". It's soo funny. So anyways, one day my aunt was in the other room, and she hears him saying "I not seeing stuffbum, I not touching stuffbum, I not getting stuffbum". She goes to investigate, and turns out he is getting a can of whipped cream and eating it...rofl!

No other news really. Still on the lookout for a dress for Halloween. A long poofy black dress in my size...impossible!! Oh, and an awesome day on Sunday where I hung out with the Maddens, Jimmy, and Mark playing soccer, and watching movies. So fun.

 buh bye~Carly
ps check out this incredible link!! SO happy for him!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAvXiG9K8ss&feature=rec-LGOUT-real_rev-rn-1r-2-HM

Finally! An update on my vacation!!

TUESDAY   9/28
Woke up leisurely at 9:30, then went to breakfast and had 1/2 waffle and 2 sausage links. We hung out at the hotel until 11 when dad picked us up to go to the World Dairy Expo! It was so cool! We looked around for a bit, then sat down to watch the Red and White Holstein show.
The arena was kind of like a basketball stadium only the arena replaced the court. outside (where the hot dog and popcorn vendors are) thwere were vendors, only cow vendors. There's some for calf pins, medicine, special beds for cows, and FREE SAMPLES. Then, in the parking lot were vendors for food, machinery, equipment, and even a cool robot barn cleaner.
The heifer that got junior champion (the champion of the young cows) was owned by a guy I bought a calf from! He is really into showing cows. It's really neat to be sitting watching the show, and hearing people talk in all different languages around you! French, Italian, Spanish, etc...
After the show, we went back to the hotel to swim and hang out. Then we went to Culver's! It's kind of like a McDonald's, KFC, and Perkins wrapped into one. I had a bacon burger and fries. It was seriously the BEST fast-food burger I have ever had. Besides burgers, there's salads, friend chicken dinners, and frozen custards! There was also these kind of McFlurry things only with 20 different kinds of treats to mix. Later, my mom and I went back to get Frozen Custard. Butterfinger Pecan (me), and Blueberry Cheesecake (mom). Delish! Apparently, they're really popular in the central part of the US.

WEDNESDAY
Probably my favorite day of the week. First, we woke up at 9, and went to breakfast where I got a cheese omelet (surprisingly good), a doughnut (awesome), toast and sasuage links. Not the most nutritious breakfast but heck! it's vacation!! After breakfast, we got ready and went down to Clasen's European Bakery (next to Culver's). There was lots of chocolate where they had 3 containers of chocolate, vanilla, and assorted mint candies of FREE SAMPLES! There was also FREE coffe, and other assorted FREE SAMPLES! Raspberry croissants (huge slices, mind you), fudge, chocolate covered cherry cake, and apple tart slices. ALL FREE!! Tons of assorted breads, homeade chocolates, tarts, cakes, sweey bars, buns, etc!
Next, we went to Carr Valley cheese. Not only is this shop the most-awarded cheese shop in the WORLD, but they also offer FREE SAMPLES! What is with Wisconsin and free samples?!?! So, we a two milk cheese of Casabolo (goat and cow) and three milk cheese of "Bessy's Best" that was award winning. I didn't expect they were going to so Awesome! So delicious!
After this, we went to a free zoo that was pretty cool. The usual, lions, tigers, goats, giraffes, rinos, etc. The cool part was I got to try my very first corn dog! Emma enjoyed the zoo alot, so that was good.
Then we went to these gardens that were really pretty. There was also fountains, towers, plants, flowers and neat little paths. That was cool, mom LOVED it!
Finally, we went to Daisy's Cupcakery and Cafe. It was fantastic! It was such a cute vintage-like place. They bought all the furniture from garage sales, so it was all mis-matching but still the same shade of color. We got a caramel cappuccino, mocha chocolate, and chocolate chocolate chocolate chocolate (my fave) cupcakes.  I could talk about this place all day, but I'm going to go help mom with dinner now.
till we meet again...Carly

p.s. The cafe inspired me! I'm going to open a business called Carly's Cupcakes, Catering, and Cooking Classes! or C5 for short. It's just what I want to do!! After I'm done with college and getting my teaching degree. The cupcake shop could be on one side, and the cooking classes on the other. For the cupcakes, Maybe I would do a "make your own cupcake" thing with a list of cakes, toppings, and icings. Hmmm...
I don't know, maybe that sounds a little wierd. What do you think?
Oh, and a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my bud Ava, who's turning 3 today! :D

Proverbs 3: 5 (NIV) Trust in the lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding.

I thank God for my good time on vacation, my family, and Mr. Shaw's acceptance of the Lord (a man who's wife in our church was diagnosed with cancer and has only 3 months to live)

NA

Totally swamped with school, and CLEAR tonight so I'll blog about the last few days on vacation later. Have so much to tell you!

Trying to mesmerize Psalm 139, my favorite passage!

I hate cars.

After almost 18 hours of car-riding. I HATE CARS!
So anyway, let's have a recap of the last two days, shall we?
Tuesday: Wake up. go to creation museum. eat. walk in gardens. go to hotel. swim. go to humongo store. eat. sleep.
Wednesday: Wake up at 6 in the morning. get in car. sleep. drive. stop at rest area. sleep. drive. listen to mp3. drive. drive. drive. sleep. rest area. wake up. MADISON! Hang with Em while Luke and the parents go to expo. mom comes back. take shower. write on blog.

So obviously this is just a recap. Maybe I'll elaborate a little. The museum on the second day was cool. Got some school done and saw some really neat shows. The gardens were amazing!! My favorite part of the day, though? The huge store!! It was amazing. There were SO MANY free samples!!!!! Other than that, there were huge salad bars, soup bars, grilling station, and even a salsa bar and greek bar. YUM.
Wednesday-not much we did. But now I should probably get some shut eye so nighty night.

What state are we in again?

Howdy strangers! Haven't posted in a while...too busy!
So now we're in Kentucky (which I just found out). Went to the Creation Museum today, and it was amazing!! We plan to go there tomorrow, but I'll probably be hanging out in the cafe to do some work. We covered lots of things in the museum like dinosaurs (Em's fave!), a planatarium (My fave, got a 30 min. nap in! accidental of course.), and other things like that. For lunch we went to "Noah's Cafe" where I got a Caesar Chicken Salad (yumO), and the rest of my family got chili, baked potato, pizza sticks, etc. All was delicious (and well priced!). I also discovered a neat little coffee/drink place which I'll definitely be trying out tomorrow. School in the cafe includes some english and history, then seeing a few of the shows with the family.
Hotel we're staying at is GORGEOUS! Not only is there an indoor pool, but FREE COOKIES! I'm in heaven of course...We have a suite that is sweet! nighty night don't let the bed bugs bite. Carly

Daniel

My family started reading Daniel after dinnertime. Verse 17 really spoke to me the most. It says "As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all cisions and dreams."
I guess it humbles my heart. Like, it reminded me that God gave me my cows, the ability to show, and everything else. God gave them learning and skill, so that Daniel had understanding. Hmm...

So I got two good books at the library for our trip (1,000 hours, 3 kids, 1 crammed car, eek!). ttfn

The envelope, please...

The results are in for the 2010 Jr. All-American show! haha. So I got 3rd place, and best bred and owned. Which is the best I've ever done. It was fun, and now we're all tired. Just think, in one week we'll be in Wisconsin! We're leaving on Sunday, and going for a week. We'll visit the Creation Museum and the World Dairy Expo to name a few stops. Hopefully, I'll be able to take the laptop with us to watch movies, post on my blog, and not get bored. That's all for now, because I really should go mow the lawn :-)

Sooo...

So, the results are: Luke got 2nd and 3rd which is good for a state 4-H show. And I got 1st, 1st, 4th, and Grand Champion of the Red and Whites. It was a crazy day! Now we don't know if we're going to the jr. all-American show or not (which is on Monday).

*YAWN* very tired. Luke's sleeping in the chair next to me, and the rest of the family is eating while we watch the 2 cows. Luke is showing one tomarrow at the Showmanship contest. Showmanship is how the person controling the animal is doing. Like if they're switching their feet, and making the animal look good. Get it? Or am I rambling nothingness to strangers? haha, more later.

Yay!

Hey, guys! Guess where I am? The State 4-h show!! Yes, after only 2 hours of figuring how to connect to the free wi-fi, I am here! My friend, Amanda is incredible with computers...and cows. Well, tomarrow's the show and I'll post how Luke and I do. Sooo not nervous, haha yeah right.

back to the cows for now, Carly

NA

Ok, for those of you who took my poll: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?! Holsteins are obviously the best breed ever!! And who in the world voted "turkey"? lol
So, I'm planning another one of my famous dinner parties for the ladies of our Small Groups. I've got my meal planned out, my invites ready to send, and my to do list made. All I have to do is send them in one week. Are you excited? I should think so. After the party, I'll post the menu and some pics.

So this weekend we have states. It's where we show our cows at the state 4-H show. My brother, dad, uncle, and cousin are all going down on Thursday to save our spots and set up. I'm going down on Friday (thank goodness) and we're staying in a hotel!! Which is alot better than staying in a dinky little camper for a week. Last year we stayed for the All-American, this year we probably won't unless we do really good at states. It's all up in the air. Did you guys understand any of that? It's cow stuff, ya know?

Well, that's all for today cause my fingers are starting to hurt. haha jk

DQs, BKs, and The Future

#1-My friend's (the brilliant person who helped me set up this blog) father, had his first job at DQ!! What a coincidence :D

#2-BKs. Could stand for...Big Kangaroos. Or Beastly Koreans. But what does everyone know this famous abbreviation for? Burger King. The greasy fast-food restaurant. You know, the one who copies McDonald's every sales pitch? Before you know it, they'll come out with lattes. However, they do have better fries than MickeyD's. No offense McDonald's!!

#3-The Future.
College. Marriage. Babies. 123, right? WRONG!
For example, Luke is right now sending out applications to colleges. Let's just say that I Do Not anticipate this step in finding the perfect college.
Anyhoo, what do I want to be when I grow up? The famous question you will be asked until your too old, and people start asking "Where do you go to college?". Well, throughout my childhood I have had a number of responses to this question. To name a few...baker, chef, pro basketball player, ballerina, teacher, artist, cowgirl, writer, photographer, etc. etc. etc. But the two things that are still my passion today are cooking and english/writing. So I'm thinking I'll go for Culinary Arts and/or Secondary English teaching. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. And only one more year to decide!!! EEK!
ttfn, and God bless, Carly

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Dairy Queen. No, not the ice cream store with the mouth-watering goodies (which I've never tasted btw). My name is Carly, and these are my tales of life on a dairy farm...

So, when you see the cows in the fields they look sparkling clean right? Are they really? NO. They are filthy. And guess who has to clean those cows? Yup, that's right, me the Dairy Queen. PAUSE

My best friend just notified me that her "pop-pop" used to own several DQs!!! Lets have an interview, shall we?

Me: Marissa, what was your pop-pop's job for the DQs?
Marissa: He owned them and ran them.
Me: Thank you captain obvious.
Marissa: Love you too, buddy!
Me: What is your pop-pop's favorite kind of ice cream?
Marissa: I have no clue, but my grandmother buys him....chocolate...sumthin....chocolate tin roof??
Me: That is so sad.
Marissa: Alright Carly, what's your grandfather's favorite ice cream?
Me: Actually, it's black raspberry. I know cause I'm a gooood granddaughter.
Marissa: Well.

That's enough of that. Anyhoo, the Dairy Queen of Northeast PA actually has to wash cows today after she is done having fun at her friend's house. And it stinks.
Well, ttyl, Carly
